Just about every domain sales venue and platform has to deal with non-paying bidders on domain listings, sales, and auctions. It’s happened to me before and I am sure it will continue to happen to others as well. Frankly, it’s frustrating as hell when you reach a deal to sell a domain name and the [...]

A few years ago, I learned about Swoopo, an interesting type of online auction website that had bidders pay for bids. As I recall, there was some controversy surrounding the type of auctions on the site, because a $100 item that sells for $10 could conceivably have hundreds of dollars worth of bids to get [...]

I’d love to hear some feedback regarding one of my projects, DogGroomers.com, a website that helps dog owners find a local dog groomer. The site has been live for a year, and it isn’t gaining the traction I would have expected (fewer than 20 paid listings). For starters, DogGroomers.com was built using the same platform/theme [...]

Domain Name News reported that Go Daddy planned to have their premium listings appear during the Super Bowl. This was big news because GoDaddy spent upwards of $10 million producing and airing its two Super Bowl commercials, and as a result, the company always experiences a huge traffic surge to its website. Since domain names [...]

Most of my business comes from flipping domain names. I buy domain names in private or at auction, and I try to sell them at a profit as quickly as possibly. I subscribe to the churn and burn method of domain sales, aside from those names I keep for development. One of the most difficult [...]

I previously discussed how I used the Estibot lead generation tool* and how I used LeadRefs.com to find buyers for domain names I was looking to sell. I also discussed how you might go about using the tool to find a buyer. I want to share an “alternative” way to successfully use tools like these [...]

The tradition of spoofing Go Daddy’s .CO commercial has continued in 2012. Name.com posted this humorous video of Denver Broncos star running back Willis McGahee in a spoof of Godaddy’s “Body Paint” Super Bowl commercial. With all due respect to McGahee, I prefer the Godaddy commercial starring Godaddy girl Natalia Velez.

I think my favorite day of the year is Super Bowl Sunday, especially when my New England Patriots are playing. I don’t ever miss a Pats game, even when I’m on vacation. Anyways, here’s a brief Super Bowl Sunday update. - I don’t know about you, but it’s been strange seeing some Super Bowl commercials [...]

I was going to write this long comment/rant in response to a couple of the comments left in the Moniker sale post, but I believe it merits its own post. I can only imagine the domain registrar business would suck if the primary target audience is domain investors. As a domain registrar catering to the [...]

By this point, I would bet you’ve heard of Lana Del Rey. Lana has a new album called Born to Die, and here’s the video of her singing her hit song Video Games last night on the Late Show with David Letterman. I know it’s not domain name related, but there are a lot of [...]
